Sweet Sophia was terrified when she came into our care. This elderly girl was placed in our play yard with a few other dogs. She was underweight, suffering from heartworm disease, and she can hardly see. This left her feeling confused and overwhelmed.

Sophia shook, cowered, and wouldn’t come near anyone. Until we paired her up with Rose.

Rose was placed in our play yard with Sophia, and now, the pair have shown our staff and volunteers at AHS just how powerful friendship can be. Immediately, Sophia and Rose bonded, and Rose helped Sophia gain back her confidence. Now, Sophia is sweet and friendly, and happy to have Rose by her side.

We took care of both girls, gave them baths, and made sure they were nice and comfortable with warm blankets. Their absolute favorite hobby is cuddling! Whether it’s in the lap of a friendly human or curled up in a doggy bed, Rose and Sophia can’t resist a snuggle! If a lap becomes available, one of them will gladly make herself at home… quickly followed by the other!

Rose and Sophia are now looking for their forever family. Since they can’t imagine life without each other, we’d love to see them go to the same home! These sweet girls can’t wait to meet you!

You can meet Rose and Sophia at our Howell Mill Campus today!
